A fabulous debut i will never forget. We fabricated a stage which was patterned from the recent Oscars Awards Night. Tons of crystals, thousands of silver garlands, rolls of metallic cloth, hundreds of hours, enormous manpower were utilized to make one gliterring awesome stage. The dance floor with the ray design was also made to order. Burgundy seat covers especially sewn for the all the way silver tiffany chairs during the dinner event. Special laces were used as table runners. And of course, to match the theme, Oscars trophies were prepared to the "awardees". I salute the debutant, Alyssa Jane Tan for her coolness and uber chill persona. Her parents, Alvin & Jane Tan who were awesomely supportive all the way! And to the planner/choreographer, Danny Villarante, who has impeccable ideas. This is one of the best debut production i've ever seen. Cheers to great life!

Vintage-Themed Wedding

I got hands-on experience how exhilarating it felt to style the wedding of artists. Jeff is right, they put A LOT of attention on the little details from planning up to their wedding day. AND I'm so loving every inch of it. *big grin grin!* The Vista Mar Beach Boardwalk was transformed into a magical vintage wonderland. Thanks to the vintage collections of the bride's friends. We infused those collector's items in our vintagey table settings. Cheers to the uber savvy wedding specialist, Tisha Mae Sanchez-Cue for the awesome inputs. And to Rock Paper Scissor's + Calography for wonderful works of art. Their photos are drool-worthy! To Brian & Jhoe, i'll never get tired styling your wedding again and again. More lovin' to you both!

Whimsical Garden Wedding in Marco Polo Hotel

It was a lovely June 5, 2010 evening at Marco Polo Hotel. The grand garden wedding of a very lovable couple - Venus Badilla & Dondon Santiago.

Venus wanted a whimsical garden venue. Not even a rainful (glad it didn't rain that night!) can persuade her to transfer to the Grand Ballroom which is the Visayas Ballroom of Marco Polo Hotel. It's her DREAM reception venue. She fell in love with the garden long before she planned for her big day. Who wouldn't fall in love with it?, the place is surrounded with healthy plants, well-kept grass, lush trees and lovely scenery.

We filled the Garden Terrace of Marco Polo Hotel with trees, hanging faux wisterias (how i wish real ones can be grown in the Philippines.. sigh...); our crystal chandeliers (which is already a classic), tealight candles and handpainted luminaries.

The presidential table was moroccan-inspired. Embellished with elaborate details such as moroccan vases, candle holders, textured tapestries. My deepest gratitude to Rock Paper Scissors for capturing all the details. Thank you :)

You might ask how we did the church decor. Well, here it is...

We spruced the majestic church of St. Therese, Lahug (yes, the newly renovated one) with flower stands which comes with tapered candle inside a glass vase and decorated with white roses, queen anne's lace and greens. And repeated the look of the trees, hanging faux wisterias, tealights. The altar, we entirely decked with tall grass blades and cascades of white orchids and roses. After the wedding ceremony, we left the altar decor in the church. This was the couple's offering to the church. What a big heart they have :)

And the bridal bouquet was a bunch of two-tone pink and solid purple dutch tulips, queen anne's lace and english ivy. When i delivered the bouquets for the entire bridal party to the suite, it was music to my hears (*wink, wink*) when Venus said, "Ms. Shei, thank you sooo much for this bouquet. It was more beautiful than i expected! I love it!"

This style-savvy bride knows what she wants and how she wants it. It was a night of sumptous food, flowing wine, good entertainment of gypsy dancers, fire dancers/eaters and the world-renowned Cebu Danceport Team. We ended the night with awesome fireworks display. It was indeed a great night and we are glad to Celebrate in Style with them! CHEERS! :)

Cherry Blossom Theme Wedding at Casino Español de Cebu

Handmade pink cherry blossoms filled the entire ballroom of Casino Español's Salon De España. As shared by Helga Barba-Sy with me, she has always been fascinated with cherry blossoms. Hence, she decided to have these fabulous gift of nature as her theme. To finish the look, we imputed pink japanese umbrellas as table centerpiece, flower origami as accent on the brown tiffany chairs, hand painted cherry blossoms on the candle containers, cherry blossom napkin ring beadworks, rich brown tablecloth to complement the brown twigs, menu cards and name cards with cherry blossoms print. Wedding at Shangri-la's Mactan Resort & Spa, Cebu

Let me quote my super gifted photographer friend/online biz lady/ great mom, maimai, these are floating jelly-like thingy. Noting a beachfront wedding, i gathered inspiration from the luminous jellyfishes to come up with a design such as this.

I am always fascinated with candles. The illuminating glow of it, never fails to imbibe an oooohhh soooo romantic mood.

I love styling everything. Even the minutest item such as a candle. As my friend, mai, has said, she never thought a candle can be prettified. Lovely!

With only two hours allowed by Shangri-la to set-up this design, i am glad we did it! Thanks to the support of Ms. Coleen Rosario, sales manger of Shangri-la.

Autumn-Themed Wedding

I grew up loving the rain forests. Every summer, I vividly remember my grandpa bringing me to our farm in the highlands of Carmen, Cebu. The spectacular lushness wayback then is awesome. In our country, the Philippines, there are only two seasons: rainy & dry. I always dreamed of autumn. How it really look and the feeling of the season. The rainfall, glittering maples, oaks and elms. It must be overwhelming! This natural wonder inspired me to create this theme. I decided to bring nature indoors and fill the ballroom of Casino Espanol de Cebu with several handmade trees. We draped thousand of silk leaves in glorious colors on the branches

and then arranged a constellation of votive candles

The votive candles hung from the handmade trees gave a lovely feeling of warmth and welcome.

that led the couple and the guests toward an elegant and elaborate table setting.

Everytime I take an event design & styling account, the setting and arranging of the tables is an opportunity for fresh configurations. I always try to incorporate little surprises and delights into the lay-out, such as these fresh peruvian lilies on the crystal garlands in one of the centerpeices...

... this gold garland on the plate charger and this two-tone carnation as a table napkin decor.

With detailed architecture and the burnished wood of Casino Espanol de Cebu, it served as a perfect canvass for this theme!

Zen-Oriental Wedding of Henry Go & Dianne Ting

One of the best wedding we had! Zen, Oriental, Hues of orange, yellow, and salmon pink.

Silver tiffany chairs for all 600 guests. A very memorable wedding to me. I even went out of the country just to buy the silk lanterns and profuse array of unique flowers!

My entire team has to do the decor for two days! Aside form the Entourage bouquets and Church Deceor, we spruced up the 1st and second floor of Parklane Hotel.

Styling and decorating THREE ballrooms of the hotel simultaneously posed a great challenge for us! I'm proud to say we made it well! Indeed, a great wedding for a style-savvy bride!
